When should you stop traveling by car when pregnant?
Complete your flight before you reach 36 weeks of pregnancy. Some domestic airlines restrict travel completely or require a medical certificate during the last month of pregnancy. For international flights, the cutoff point often is earlier, sometimes as early as 28 weeks.
Can I travel by car at 36 weeks pregnant?
If you are without complications, traveling up to 36 weeks by car or air is acceptable as long as you are aware of the potential risks. If you are 36 weeks or further we do not recommend any travel farther than two hours from home by car.
Is it OK to take a road trip while pregnant?
If you have a healthy pregnancy, it’s usually safe to travel. But talk to your health care provider before planning any trip. If you have a health condition, such as heart disease, or if you’ve had pregnancy complications, such as gestational diabetes, your provider may suggest you limit travel.
Can you drive 4 hours while pregnant?
You can drive throughout your pregnancy as long as you are comfortable, can reach everything you need to in your car, and can comfortably and safely maneuver the car. Some women find they are exceptionally tired so they may stop driving while pregnant.
