- Canada. Passport required at port of entry into Canada; green card required at port of re-entry into United States.
- Costa Rica.
- British Virgin Islands.
- Dominican Republic.
- Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
What do I need to travel with my green card?
There are two primary documents you will need to travel abroad:
- Your Green Card and;
- A passport from your country of citizenship or your refugee travel document permitting travel to the foreign country. Sometimes, countries require visas and as such, you must have this in hand as well for entry/exit purposes.
How long can I travel with a green card?
As a permanent resident of the United States, you are welcome to travel abroad. However, any trip longer than six months could interrupt your continuous residence for the purposes of naturalization.
