Terraria: Journey’s End – Everything You Should Know
Terraria has released its final major update, Journey’s End, after nine years of development. There are a lot of new things in the game that should be accounted for and played before we think about the game’s future. The Journey’s End update is now available on PC and Mac.
1. Timing is Everything
The Terraria: Journey’s End update, version 1.4, will be released on May 16th, 2020, marking the game’s ninth anniversary. Terrarians are looking forward to it because it adds a slew of new features, items, and gameplay in general.
2. The More The Merrier!
Happiness and Towns are new features in the Journey’s End update. Happiness is based on location; if an NPC is near people they like, in a biome they’re comfortable in, their Happiness will be higher. Towns are formed when three or more NPCs are grouped together.
3. Traveling the World
Pylons serve as teleportation hubs for your outposts; clicking one will take you to the Map, from which you can teleport to another Pylon in a different biome.
4. Pocket Purse
The Void Vault is a chest that can be accessed from anywhere by using the Void Bag, and it serves as an extra bit of inventory by transferring items that would otherwise be unavailable due to a full inventory to this small pocket plane, which are indicated by purple item names when picked up.
5. A Touch Harder
The new Master mode is a step harder than Expert mode, with boosted stats for enemies and exclusive boss item drops. Journey is supposedly a type of creative mode that focuses on world creation rather than survival.
The highlight is a Goblin Shark, which is the only one seen in action; if you’re looking for a new companion, check out the new cats and dogs.
7. Take Note
The bestiary is a fantastic tool that will allow you to see creature stats in a fun way. An achievement suggestion space highlights a goal that the player should achieve. The emote ability allows you to speak in symbols, which can include emoticons and items.
8. Extra Equipment
There are currently 1056 item IDs to be added to Terraria, including Scarab Bombs and the MineCarp, a new fish-themed minecraft. Terraria also has a new feature called Block Swap that will alleviate any building frustrations.
9. Leaves in the Wind
Falling leaves, as well as movement on trees, vines, and plants, contribute to this, and a new feature adds a little bit of fun for those who enjoy these types of changes.
10. What’s Next?
Terraria has received its final major update, with only minor bug fixes remaining. While a Terraria 2 is rumored to be in the works, with an infinite world and character progression, the community can still create, expand, and enjoy the world Terraria has to offer.

Note that many of Journey Mode’s features will completely trivialize the game; duplication is the most obvious example, but the ability to halt corruption and change the time of day at will are also huge gamebreakers. I’d highly recommend playing through Normal at least once.
