How Far Can Bees Travel?

Bees have been reported to travel as far as 12 kilometers (8 kilometers) away from their nest, however they normally confine their foraging to food sources within three kilometers. Foraging bees fly around 75 percent of the time within one kilometer of their nest, whereas immature field bees only fly within the first few hundred meters.
