Can a US citizen travel to Greece?
- Citizens of the United States who are coming to Greece will be denied entry unless they fall under one of the extremely limited exclusions that are outlined in the information provided by the Greek Embassy about entry into the European Union and the Schengen Area.
- There is currently no estimated timeframe for when access will be granted.
- You will not be able to get around EU regulations by spending a significant amount of time in a third nation.
Do you need a visa to enter Greece?
Entry, Exit and Visa Requirements. Visit the website of the Greek Embassy in your country of residence for the most recent visa information. Because Greece is a signatory to the Schengen Agreement, citizens of the United States are permitted to enter Greece without the need for a visa for stays of up to ninety days for purposes including tourism and business.
Is there an US Embassy in Athens Greece?
You will not get permission to enter Greece from the United States Embassy in Athens, nor will you be able to obtain exceptions to travel restrictions imposed by Greece or the EU. At least forty-eight hours before entering Greece, any passenger who is permitted to enter the country is required to fill out an online Passenger Locator Form (PLF).
